Slant-bed lathe available in three models

Milltronics USA has introduced the SL-II series of slant-bed CNC lathes. Three models are available, the SL6-II, SL8-II, and SL10-II, and each has the series 9000 CNC. The control can be programmed either conversationally or with G/M code.

The SL6-II is a 6,000-RPM machine with 1,181-IPM rapids. It has a 6-in., three-jaw hydraulic chuck with a 2.2-in. spindle bore. The AC spindle motor is 17.5 HP and has a Yaskawa drive. Maximum part diameter is 12.4 in., and maximum part length is 13.4 in. It comes standard with a bidirectional, 12-tool turret.

The SL8-II is a 4,000-RPM machine with an 8-in., three-jaw hydraulic chuck and a 3.2-in. spindle bore. It has a 22-HP AC spindle motor with a Yaskawa drive. The rapid traverse rates are 1,181 IPM. Maximum part diameter is 14 in., and maximum part length is 20.7 in.

The SL10-II has a 10-in., three-jaw hydraulic chuck and a 3.62-in. spindle bore. The AC spindle motor is 30 HP, produces 3,000 RPM, and has a Yaskawa drive. The rapid traverse rate is 1,181 IPM. The maximum part diameter is 17.7 in., and maximum part length is 28.4 in.

All models are available with optional programmable quill tailstocks, Renishaw pre-setters, lift-up chip conveyors, bar feed interface, parts catchers, and collet chucks.
